Accommodation
Participants have multiple accommodation options:
NYU Housing
The ISMIR 2016 organization has secured a limited number of single and shared rooms for ISMIR 2016 participants at NYU’s Weinstein Hall. Located on 5 University Place in Manhattan, Weinstein Hall is just a 3 minute walk to the main conference venue and is made available at a very attractive price given its central location:
- Single room: $88/night (tax exempt)
- Shared room: $60/night (tax exempt, you may specify a preferred roommate and NYU will do its best to accommodate you)
All rooms (both single and shared) have shared bathrooms. Shared rooms accommodate 2 people.
NYU housing availability is limited and will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. Booking must be completed as part of conference registration.
Availability date range: August 5 – August 13
NYU housing is restricted to people 18 years old and above. NYU Housing is not suitable for families with children, or unregistered partners.
ISMIR 2016 Hotels
The ISMIR 2016 organization has secured a limited number of discounted rooms at hotels located very close to the main conference venue:
Washington Square Hotel
Located on 103 Waverly Pl, this 149 room boutique hotel is literally on the other side of Washington Square Park, a mere 3 minute walk from the main conference venue.
- 1 Queen Bed Superior: $230/night + tax
- 2 Twin Beds Superior: $230/night + tax
- 1 Queen Bed Deluxe: $230/night + tax

Walker Hotel
Located on 52 West 13th Street, Walker Hotel offers 1920s Parisian inspired rooms that take decorative cues from the elegant art-deco era, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the main conference venue.

AirBnB has numerous listings in NYC and you can find a private room in a shared house if traveling on your own or rent out an entire apartment if traveling with colleagues or family.

There are many hostels in NYC. A meta search engine such as hostels.com or hostelworld (to name a couple) is probably the best way to find a hostel.
